Andrea Mejia and Caitlin Furtado are the co-founders of M-Power. In 2016, they were inspired to start this organization, because they believed that there is a need to teach people about personal finance at a preventive stage, rather than at a later stage. Caitlin and Andrea noticed that friends and colleagues were curious to learn more about personal finance topics such as how to save more, get out of debt and invest.
Andrea has 10 years of experience in the financial services sector, most recently having worked five years for a large Canadian bank in audit and risk management. Andrea has a Bachelors of Commerce from Concordia University and a MBA from Queens University.
Prior to co-founding M-Power, Caitlin worked for 5 years as a Banker in commercial lending and precious metals at a large Canadian financial institution. She has also worked with small businesses in her role as an Insurance Underwriter in a government agency. She received her Bachelors of Commerce from McGill University, her MBA from the University of Toronto and is a CFA Charterholder.
